Night One...Check

Lilliana did "well" overnight. She had a major fluid build up in her right lung. Her chest tube on that side stopped putting anything out so they did an xray which showed a large build up. They did some "aggressive stripping" of the chest tube and were able to get 400 cc's out! Now in x-ray it looks much better. They plan on attempting to remove the breathing tube today. She is awake at times and can answer questions by nodding her head. She has had a few moments of reaching to pull her breathing tube but overall is quite consolable with "mommies here", "it will be ok", "try not to move it, it's coming out soon".... She is still on a morphine drip (stopping soon) so she is in and out of sleep constantly.

As soon as my head hit the pillow last night I was out! I woke up at 3 am in a panic and checked my phone (no calls from Denis) and it took awhile to fall back asleep. It felt so good to get some rest.

Today is gonna be a hard one... extabating always is :( She has to be sedated enough not to feel the pain but awake enough to breath on her own.

Pray for a smooth uneventful day... without the breathing tube if possible :)
